Brandie and I met with our principal and shared our portfolios. As Brandie said she was very impressed. Along with discussing the things we had done this year we stared planning for further training. Several of the teachers at our school are interested in starting classroom websites. We are going to make this the focus of the next training. She has also asked us to take over the responsibility of our school website, so it looks like we still have some work to do. ;)

We also talked about some of the training we provided for a few staff members this year and how to improve our process for next year. ***

Janice Demers posted 4-23-08 My April plan has my students using a power point presentation I created on flower parts for the them to explore the parts of a flower. The power point connects to The Great Plant Escape website which provides further information on plants and plant life, They created test questions and those became part of the power point presentation for them to complete at the end of their exploration.

Brandie,
I really like your curriculum pages on Cause and Effect. I need to go back and copy your page to use with my class next year. It is always great to have other resources to use to provide the students with additional practice that is not paper and pencil or text book driven.

I continued to explore the basic curriculum pages for an activity I developed two years ago to improve the focus and attention span of my autistic students. I call it BODY SPEAKS because it allows my students to develop their skills in reading nonverbal cues given out through body language. Autistic people have a hard time in understanding basic social cues and need to develop sensitivity to what is said nonverbally....hence the use of American Sign Language which uses hand movements to express thoughts and words in an unusual way. Plus, they also are learning a second language in which to communicate. I have noticed great improvement in their focus and attention span, their deciphering of social situations, and many more areas of deficits for these unique students.
Here is my integration plan and my curriculum pages.

I think I am finally finished. I e-mailed the training log. I will hand deliver the principal survey and portfolio. I won't be able to get the CD to you before Thursday if I pony it. I had my interview earlier in the month.
I have definitely enjoyed this experience. I don't think I would have pushed myself to actually work on each technology component with out this program. I think I am a better student and hopefully a better teacher because if what I have learned. I think the most important thing I learned is that I know and integrate at a much lower level than I thought I did. I will defintely have to step things up a notch or two next year. Thanks for everything.

Happy almost Summer everyone!!!
I have completed my assignments and also met with my principal. The training log and survey were sent to Ron Kadar by pony last week. I also send my portfolio CD by pony last week. This was so much fun and I can't wait to use these lessons next year when I have a one to one ratio of wireless laptops to use with my students. They will have some great products to share!
My April lesson plan was made with Renzulli.

I have requested a meeting with my principal for Tuesday. I may have to hand-carry his evaluation to the meeting on the 29th. I have sent my training log to Ron today by email. I have taken the TIM survey and submitted my record. I will pony or hand-carry my portfolio disk to you on Tuesday. Have I forgotten anything? Please, please, please say, "No."
It has been a great learning experience for me this year, I just wish I had not had so many brands in the fire at the same time. 6 school days, 1 commencement day, then I can have my nervous breakdown as I clean an office and classroom that has not seen organization in the last two months. Please, someone kick me if I volunteer for even one more part-time project. ;-)

Sent training log and Principal's survey(scanned) to Ron.
I have learned many things that I will use next year. Technology is an area I really want to focus on during the next school year.
I will bring a CD of my portfolio tonight.
